I feel I'm getting where I'd like to be - apart from the images, some of which are poorly edited place-holders; there, until I've got time to re-edit and re-post.
The only thing irritating me at the moment, is the appearance of albums. That is, when a user clicks a certain album, I want thumbnails in a grid, not large images in a vertical row. The vertical row will be frustrating for people, once I've got more images. Scrolling down an endless stream, hoping for something good/better - is not good and most people will give up after a while (in my opinion). Speaking for myself, I want thumbnails, when I view photography sites. That way, I can do a fairly quick browse and click on those images that capture my attention.
I don't want large images I have to flick through - I don't want slide shows - I want results and I want them quickly. If I don't get that, I rarely stay for long, even if the photographs are good.
What I need for this site, is similar to what can be seen at the start of this blog - but not cropped to a square. I know this feature is available in paid for templates, but I'm pretty sure I can change the free one I'm currently using.
If anyone reads this (which I rather hope will not happen) I'm sorry about the lack of a commenting system. I've installed Disqus, but it's not working at the moment. Something that I will look at later.
